That desire for experimentation resulted in Seduction's first coupling, with Deadmau5 on "Move for Me."

"I hear a lot of his [Deadmau5, aka Joel Zimmerman] music, and I think, 'That's not typically how I would produce a song,'"says Kaskade. "But I'm intrigued by him, musically. So I hit him up on instant messenger and said, 'I think we can do well working together. You're doing intriguing, interesting things.'"

While Kaskade branched out his artistic relationships with that collaboration, he also found himself whittling away at less fulfilling affairs. In a day and age of marathon music sessions, Kaskade's latest disc clocks in with a comparatively lean ten new tracks, plus one new remix of 4 AM, a track from a prior album. In preparing Strobelite Seduction, Kaskade found himself dumping dead weight like a merciless ex who just, like, you know, needs to move on and stuff.

"That's never happened in the past,"he says of the process that left several submissions sitting on the cutting room floor. "I think I initially turned in 14 songs to the label… and labels are funny, you know? They're dying for content, the more the better. They could care less if you think it's crap… But I just kept listening to it and I thought, 'You know what, some of this just doesn't make sense [on the album].'”

"Then I was thinking of some of old '80s records,"he adds. "Some of those records had 8, 9, 10 or 11 songs on them. It's so cool, cohesive and much more concise. I thought that I really wanted to shave it down. I didn't want any filler on it. I just wanted the stuff I really, really loved.”

And for an album that harks back to his initial infatuation with the music he now makes, who can blame him?

But don't worry, fans. Running time and track listings shouldn't confuse you to think that this Seduction is a quickie. Unlike the average case of love at first sight, Kaskade still gets tingly with the rush of making sweet, sweet music.

"Totally,"says Kaskade, when asked if he still feels the same passion for his craft as the day he started in the biz. "I'm still a music lover at heart. Nightclubs are still a very interesting place for me to perform, and I still enjoy listening to music at extreme volumes.”

"I think I'm in the right line of work,"he adds with a laugh.

Wham. Bam. Thank you, man.

TRIVIA:

You thought you partied hard on New Year's 2008? Kaskade rang in the year with a "Jet Set Marathon,"playing three shows at three different cities in ONE night: Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Holy frequent flier, Batman!

One vocalist Kaskade would love to feature on a future song: Jem, who he discovered on the same Sex & the City soundtrack where his track "I Like the Way"is featured.

Though he regrets how long it's been taking, Kaskade promises that something new is nearing completion from his band Late Night Alumni. ("Empty Streets”).

Kaskade is one of three DIVA/DIVO OF THE MONTH artists to be featured in Coca-Cola's current Olympics 2008 promotion ( HYPERLINK "http://www.coca-cola/we8" www.coca-cola/we8), alongside Jes and Lucas Prata. Great minds think alike!

Sorry, ladies (and gents). Though he spends much of his life in the perpetual bachelor pads that are night clubs, Kaskade is actually happily married.
